Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how Brian Abelson (“I”, “me”, “my”) handles information in connection with this website (brian.abelson.live) and any personal software, tools, or applications I operate under this domain (collectively, the “Services”).

These are small, personally-run projects. I am not a company, I do not sell anything, and I have no interest in collecting more information than a project needs to function.

Information I collect

Information you provide. If you contact me, subscribe to a mailing list, or sign in to one of my applications, I receive the information you submit — for example your name or email address.

Information from Google. Some of my applications let you sign in with, or connect, a Google account. If you choose to do that, I receive only the data covered by the permission scopes you approve on Google’s consent screen. That access is used solely to provide the feature you asked for, and you can revoke it at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Automatically collected information. Standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of your request. These are used for security and basic troubleshooting.

How I use information

I use information only to:

  • operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • provide the specific features you have requested or authorized;
  • respond to you when you get in touch;
  • comply with legal obligations.

What I do not do

  • I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
  • I do not share your information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
  • I do not use data obtained through Google APIs to build advertising profiles or to train generalized machine learning models.

Google API Services User Data Policy

My use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Sharing and disclosure

I may share information only with service providers that help operate the Services (for example hosting or email delivery providers), and only to the extent needed to do so. I may also disclose information if required by law or if necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of the Services or others.

Data retention

I keep information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. You may ask me to delete information associated with you at any time.

Security

I take reasonable measures to protect the information I hold, including access controls and encrypted transport. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may:

  • request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information;
  • unsubscribe from any email list using the link in the message;
  • revoke any Google account access from your Google Account permissions page.

Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
