For the last twenty years, brian abelson has written, produced, and dj’d groove-oriented music, skipping playfully between disco, hip hop, house, garage rock, synth pop, shoegaze, and techno. His productions and collaborations have come out on labels like Beats in Space (RVNG), Sinderlyn (Captured Tracks), Love Injection, Lobster Theremin, Sorry Records, and Toucan Sounds and showcase their penchant for crafting textured, infectious rhythms. As a DJ, Brian flows fluidly between genres and makes heavy use of homemade edits, locked grooves, and drum machine improvisations. Based in NYC, they previously maintained a 4-year long residency at Bossa Nova Civic Club and have played at Nowadays, Public Records, Brooklyn Steel, Elsewhere, and many other venues in NYC.
